Residential bulk collection is expected to resume in late April. Leaves, yard waste, and brush in plastic bags, or bags that are contaminated with non-organic materials (metals, plastics, and cardboard/paper) will not be picked up. Residents can place bagged leaves curbside for pickup during their normal garbage & recycling collection day. Leaves must be placed in paper lawn bags for collection. Please do not obstruct the sidewalk when placing items curbside.Please note: Brush (cuttings from trees and large shrubs) cannot be disposed of using yard waste bags, Please trim them to 4-5′ in length and place with other oversize branches directly on the edge of your sidewalk or alley. Residents are asked to place weeds, brush and other materials in a biodegradable (paper) bag or bundle the brush and branches together for easier collection.Please sweep dirt along the curbs and out of the gutters into small piles to help make pick up easier. This will improve the effectiveness of street cleaning operations. Property owners are encouraged to sweep or wash sidewalks adjacent to their properties and rake their lawns before sweepers arrive to clean their street.All streets that will be part of that day’s cleanup will be posted for “No Parking.” Please notify DPW at (518) 270-4579 in advance if you know of any abandoned, unregistered or inoperative vehicles in your neighborhood.
